Job Title: Part-Time Support Mentor for Adults with Additional needs and Disabilities

Location:  Sapphire Partnership

Hours: 18 hours per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

Salary: £10.42 per hour

Contract: 12 month period

We are currently seeking a Part-Time Support Mentor to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of the individuals we serve.

Job Description:

As a Part-Time Support Mentor, you will play a crucial role in providing support, guidance, and assistance to young adults with  additional needs and disabilities. You will work closely with individuals to help them develop essential life skills, build independence, and participate in meaningful activities within the community. Your compassionate and patient approach will be key to fostering a safe and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to adults with additional needs and disabilities in their daily activities.

  • Assist individuals in developing essential life skills, including cooking, budgeting, and personal hygiene.

  • Contribute to the development of personalised support plans to meet the needs of each individual.

  • Encourage community participation and social integration.

  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment that promotes independence and self-confidence and report any concerns or incidents to the supervisor.

  • Attend training sessions and meetings as required to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with young adults with additional needs and disabilities is desirable but not essential.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Empathy, patience, and a compassionate approach to support.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to the role.

  • Willingness to undergo background checks and relevant training.

  • Hold a current UK driving licence and be willing to drive.
